Smith Equine Services is a family owned and operated full service breeding facility. We offer a full line of equine breeding and veterinary services including ultrasound, embryo transfer, cooled semen, and frozen semen. Our home and clinic are located together which allows us to keep a 24 hour watch on all our horses. We have installed a color video surveillance system which allows us to monitor sick horses or foaling mares from every room in our house and clinic 24 hours a day. This also gives us the capability to record on video tape each foaling as it occurs. We take great pride in our work and feel very fortunate to be able to spend every day doing what we truly love to do.

Dr. Stacy Smith Graduated with a Bachelors degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University and then went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University as well. She spent her childhood in Amarillo, Texas; most of it within 5 miles of where she now practices veterinary medicine. Her practice is based on equine medicine with an emphasis on reproduction. She does however, provide small animal care for her horse clients as an added convenience. Dr. Smith has had extensive experience in laser surgery as well. Dr. Smith spent her entire life with a love for horses that has never changed.

Mike Smith graduated from Connors State College with an Associate Degree in Animal Science and was trained as a veterinary technician at the Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at Oklahoma State University. Mike received his reproduction education at The Ohio State University under Dr. Walter Threlfall. Mike is Certified by The Ohio State University in the collection, evaluation, and shipment of both cooled and frozen semen. Mike spent his whole life in a family operated horse breeding program operated by his father and mother, Joe B. and Lucille Smith, in eastern Oklahoma raising foundation Quarter Horses. Raised in a family of calf ropers and team ropers, he has passed his love of horses and roping on to his sons Justin and Jacob who also help with the breeding business.

Amie Howard is the only non-family member involved in the business for several reasons. Breeding horses is a dangerous job and should only be conducted by trained and experienced professionals. We would not trust the care of your valuable mares and foals to incompetent backyard amateurs or part-time want to be breeders. Amie graduated from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelors degree in Equine Science. Amie is an accomplished trainer and shares the same commitment to excellence as the Smiths.
